Here at Car Toys we have been on the front lines of the rebuilding process for sound quality competitions. Over the past two years we have rebuilt our competition team and have built numerous competition cars for our customers. It is now time to take it to the next level! On August 30-31st (Labor Day Weekend) we will be holding the premier sound quality competition…The T-Town Invitational! This will be an event unlike any seen in the last decade…maybe ever. On Saturday August 30th we will be holding a regional USACI sound off, and on Sunday August 31st we will be holding the first $10,000.00 Sound Quality Challenge. The top three cars in each SQ class for the USACI Regional will receive an automatic bid to the USACI World Finals, and all competitors who enter the $10,000.00 Sound Quality Challenge will receive an invite to the IASCA World Finals.
How To Enter the T-Town Invitational
To enter the USACI regional event or the $10,000.00 Sound Quality Challenge you only need to call us at our retail store. To enter the USACI regional it will cost $65.00 per class, and yes SPL will be offered as well as SQ. As a bonus for all USACI competitors who compete on Saturday you can receive and automatic bid to the $10,000.00 Sound Quality Challenge if you win your SQ Class. Now that leaves 31 open spots that will have to filled for the $10,000 Sound Quality Challenge. Those spots can be pre-registered by anyone, but must be approved by Car Toys. If approved it will cost $100.00 to enter the money round on Sunday. As a bonus the $10,000.00 Sound Quality Challenge has also been sanctioned by IASCA!
Rules:
There will be four pairs of judges that will judge the 40 entries. The high and low score will be thrown out and the remaining two scores will be averaged. This will be sound only, no install. The sound rules and sheet will be based on IASCA sound rules and the ultimate sq sheet. The Sunday round will be sanctioned by IASCA. If you compete in this round you will be able to compete at the IASCA finals as well (this will be great for all competitors looking for a show on this side of the world). There will be a mandatory meeting for all competitors on Saturday night for the $10,000.00 Sound Quality Challenge. At this meeting you will be able to meet the judges and hear a rare seminar from DR. Douglas Winker (Doctoral Degree in Room Acoustics for The University of Texas) on small room acoustics and tuning an automobile.
Music:
The music will be decided by the judges prior to the event. They will be picking 15 songs that will be pressed onto 40 CD's (by the judges in the highest quality available) and given to the 40 competitors on Saturday night. There will be some traditional SQ tracks as well as some real world music, and no genre will be excluded. The thought is that the best sounding system should sound good on any music, no matter the genre picked.
